National Webinar on “Catalysis & Organic Synthesis: Past to Future-17-08-2020

Baliga College of Arts & science, Kumta, organised National Level Webinar on “Importance of Catalysis and Organic Synthesis: Past to Future” on 17th August 2020. Dr. Ramakrishna Bhat, Professor and Scientist, Indian Institute Science, Education & Research (IISER), Pune and Dr. Ganapati Shanbhag, Associate Professor, Poorna Prajna Institute if scientific Research, Bengaluru are involved as Resource persons. National Webinar aims to bring together the Research Scholars, Students and Faculty to create a unique opportunity and platform for exchange the knowledge and share their experiences about all aspects of Catalysis and Synthetic Chemistry during Covid-19 situation.
Welcome and introduction of Dr. Ganapati Shanbhag done by Programme coordinator Dr. N. K. Nayak. Principal Dr. S. N. Shetty gave good message for the best utility time for the development of career, knowledge by attending such webinar in covid -19 situation. The session started with Dr. Ganapati Shanbhag, PPISR, Bengaluru gave scintillating talk on “Importance of Catalysis for the Conversion of renewable resource biomass into Energy and Chemicals”. Convener Dr. Revati Naik introduced Second session resource person, Dr. Ramakrishna Bhat, IISER, Pune and gave electrified talk on “Organic Synthesis and its Applications: past to future”. He also gave importance of basic science and its opportunities in basic science. Participants discussed with resource persons and clarified their doubts. Vote of thanks proposed by Miss. Sneha Hegde. Participants more than 126 involved from the different state of the country in the successful completion of webinar.
