Online National Conference On Nanomaterials And Characterization Technique-01-08-2020
Kumta: A first of its kind in the district A Two day online National Conference is organised recently by the Dept. of Physics, of prestigious college in the district Dr. A. V. Baliga College, Kumta during the Pandemic crises. Dr. M. G. Hegde the in charge principal inaugurated this two day event with his inspirational speech trusting the “The need of online education during this pandemic and especially for the students, research scholars and faculty” and added this effort by our physics department has created an awareness in utilizing different online platforms. Dr. N. D. Naik, H. O. D. has welcomed the guests and the participants registered for this two day event.
The invited Key – Note speaker of the day, Dr. N. H. Ayachit, Registrar, KLE Tech. University, Hubballi is introduced by Shri. Vinayak S. Bhat, Assistant Professor in Physics. Dr. Ayachit in his speech highlighted the “Nano Materials” and provided a valuable information to all the on line audience by explaining about “The change in the basic physical characteristics of different materials in nanoform and the utilisation of these nanoproperties of elements like Gold, Silver, Zinc, Cadmium etc…in the new way of research and how they become very useful in the recent research” in his talk for an hour. Answered for interesting query in the interaction session briefly.
Dr. N .D. Naik has introduced the second guest speaker of the day, Dr. B. G. Hegde, Professor & Chairman, P.G. Dept. of Physics, Belagavi. He has delivered his talk about “The Nanosynthesis”. In his speech he has given valuable ideas regarding “Different methods of synthesis like sol-gel spin coating, chemical and biosynthesis etc. available in physics and material science to explore nano behaviour of particles and the recent characterization techniques to carry out research in nanoscience”.
The Guest speaker of the second day Dr. Sridhar. P. M., Asst.Prof.in Physics, Siddaganga Institute of Technology, Tumkur enlighted with “The Recent Developments in Nanotechnology” by explaining about different kind of nanosensors, nanofibres applied in the field of communication, automobile engineering and physics of materials to the audience . More than 400 participants joined this conference through Zoom Meeting and the simultaneous live streaming on you tube.
Twenty participants presented their research papers. Three Best paper awards separately under the category of research scholars and faculties has been announced and sent in the form of e-certificates. Dr. S. N. Shetty, Principal, focussed about the “Credibility of this online event to the students and researchers”. Dr. Chetan Pai, Guest lecturer in Physics, gave vote of thanks. Mr. Karthik Shetty and Mr. Vivek Hegde has assisted with their software support .All the teaching and non teaching staff of the college presented on line to witness the event and supported Honbl. President, Shri. Raghu Pikle, Chairman Shri. M. Y. Prabhu, Secretary, Shri Vinod Prabhu and the members of the management of the Kanata College Socierty, Kumta greeted the organisers and resource persons.
